Athene Blog Integration

For years, Aviva (and subsequently Athene) had been creating and sharing content through an email newsletter and blog called Smart Strategies. The Wordpress site was maintained by a third-party vendor and we did not have direct access to web analytics. Over time, I was able to persuade stakeholders that it would be better for us to drive readers to our main website. In 2015, we got approval for a project to migrate the content.

At the time, we did not have an article system defined in our Content Management System. I mapped the information architecture and designed the UI elements needed. Then I worked with the content admin and developer who migrated the content and made the filters work. A project coordinator documented URL redirects and identified marketing materials that needed to be updated. My team updated all the print collateral, web content and email templates.
